Essence Festival
The Essence Festival otherwise known as the Essence Fest is an annual African American music festival held every year at the superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. People come out to indulge in an abundance of food, culture,expos, speakers, and watch some of there favorite artist from all over the world perform some of their most iconic hits!
When designing the logo for essence fest, a simple lower case “e” combined with the womens sex symbol is how this design same about. The ‘e’ is the most important part of the word essence, so the smartist tactic to bring out the true meaning of this festival was by keeping it simple with a letter form but upgrading it with a shape to enhance it but not take away from the meaning and beauty. With that being said, the original “e” is modified a little to give it more of an oval shape.
Typefaces used
This color Palate was used to portray a since of vibrance and fun. I wanted the feel for the brand to come to life with the combined different shapes and colors used as one to give this funky electric feeling. The essence of African American women is see just from looking at her, I wanted this same feel when you look at this essence brand. There all about pop, culture, hip-hop, and essence which is what this entire festival beholds!

The brochure tells you a little something about the event and what it is and has information about sheduling, expos, food, and lineup of performing artist.
